Share your kindness!
In the midst of the on-going pandemic and heated political divisions, the Pennsylvania Humanities Council (PHC) has partnered with Philadelphia poet laureate Trapeta B. Mayson on a mission to help spread kindness throughout the state.
Called the PA Kindness Poem Project, this year-long initiative invites residents to share messages on social media that promote generosity, healing, reconciliation, and peace.
Mayson will use these messages as inspiration for an original poem to be released on World Kindness Day on November 13th.

How to Participate
Throughout the year, PHC will encourage participation in the PA Kindness Poem Project by regularly sharing kindness-themed quotes on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Residents' own kindness messages can be posted on social media in video, text, or image formats and include quotes from books, poems, songs, historic and contemporary thinkers -- or be something completely original.
To be included in the project, posts must use the hashtag #PAKindnessPoem and mention the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.
The PA Kindness Poem Project officially kicked off on February 17th, with the first message of kindness offered by Gisele Barreto Fetterman, PHC board member and Pennsylvania’s Second Lady. Residents’ submissions will be accepted until August 31st.
