BiographyAs an instrumental musician in residence for United Mine Workers of America, Tom Breiding's songs were insrumental in restoring the benefits of 18,000 retired coal miners in 2013. He performed for tens of thousands at rallies across the U.S., but it's not the first time Breiding captured social/historical events in song. In 2008, recruited by Calliope, Breiding produced When We Shine, a compilation celebrating Pittsburgh's 250 year history, and his 2009 collection, The Unbroken Circle: Songs of the WV Coalfields spent 16 weeks in the top 100 of the Americana charts.
