Paul Rosier

Biography

Paul Rosier is a professor and department chair of the History department at Villanova University.

Rosier is the author of Serving Their Country: American Indian Politics and Patriotism in the Twentieth Century.

From Earth Day 1970 to Global Warming and Fracking:A Modern Environmental History of Pennsylvania​

This session will provide Pennsylvanians with an overview of the important historical and contemporary environmental issues that have affected Pennsylvania, from the first Earth Day in 1970 to the present concerns over global warming and hydraulic fracking, with a review of why the State of Pennsylvania produces 1% of the world’s greenhouse emissions and what Pennsylvanians can do about it.  The session is intended to be interactive, drawing upon the audience members’ remembrance of well-known events as well as their perspectives on current issues of global warming, fracking, and pollution.
